Drawing on key findings from CeSSRA’s research (report, policy brief, and infographic), the webinar aims to discuss, on the one hand, how outdated, siloed systems have hindered effective crisis response. Green buildings respect the environmental impacts of the extraction of materials and processes related to their construction and operation, deliver cost savings and improved value to their owners, conserve energy and water consumption, and provide healthy indoor environment for the people who live and work in them. New green building initiatives and mandates in the region have provided the high-level support for improving design and construction practices and building performance.

لما كانت النفايات من اهم المشاكل البيئية التي يعاني اليوم منها لبنان بشكل عام وبالاخص مدينة طرابلس والتي تؤثر سلبا على صحة المواطن، وانطلاقا من واجب المواطن في المساهمة في ادارة النفايات المنزلية، تنظّم اللجنة اللبنانية للبيئة والتنمية المستدامة بالتعاون مع بلدية طرابلس وبدعم من منظمة الصحة العالمية حملة توعية لفرز النفايات من المصدر خلال شهر تشرين الاول 2019 .

This workshop co-organised by Lebanon Support and the Arab NGO Network for Development aims to place the localisation debate in a longer temporality of global discussions that have shaped international cooperation during the past decades, and at bringing back equal and balanced partnerships at the heart of these discussions, and initiate a process towards the adoption and enactment of a civil society charter in Lebanon.
