تهدف حلقة النقاش هذه إلى تحليل الأثر التراكمي للتعرُّض المتكرّر للنزاعات على الأطفال في لبنان، وفهم تأثير جولات الحرب والانهيار الاقتصادي والتهميش البُنيوي على حياة الأطفال ومستقبلهم/نَّ، وذلك للإجابة في نهاية المطاف عن سؤالٍ محوري: إذا أَرَدْنا أن تكون مسألة الحدّ من تعرُّض الأطفال للنزاعات وتعزيز قدرتهم/نَّ على التكيُّف والصمود جزءًا أساسيًا من أيّ خطّة وطنية للتعافي، فما هو المسار الكفيل بتعزيز حماية الطفل، وتغيير الاتّجاهات الراهنة، ووضع الجيل القادم في صميم الأولويات الوطنية؟

This roundtable aims to unpack the cumulative impact of repeated exposure to conflict on children in Lebanon. It will examine how cycles of war, economic collapse, and systemic neglect are reshaping children’s lives and futures, ultimately seeking to answer the question: if reducing children’s exposure to conflict and strengthening their resilience are to be central to any national recovery agenda, what path forward can enhance child protection, reverse current trends, and place the next generation at the heart of national priorities?

تعرض هذه الندوة نتائج تقريرٌ مشترك من إعداد "شبكة المنظّمات العربية غير الحكومية للتنمية" و"مركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية". كما تسعى إلى فهم ومعالجة تأُثير الأبحاث المبنيّة على الأدلّة على النقاشات العامّة ومسارات صنع السياسات، وذلك انطلاقًا من مثال صندوق النقد الدولي.

This webinar presents the findings of a joint report co-authored by the Arab NGO Network for Development and the Centre for Social Sciences Research and Action. It also seeks to understand, and address, via the example of the IMF, how evidence based research can impact public debates and policy making processes.

تندرج هذه الندوة في إطار سلسلة من الندوات أطلقها مركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية تحت عنوان "فهم المسألة الاجتماعية في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا". من خلال إجراء مسح تاريخي وسياسي لعمليات إعادة التشكيل التدريجي للمسألة الاجتماعية في المنطقة، تطمح سلسلة الندوات هذه إلى المساهمة في تحقيق فهم أفضل لعملية بناء مَطالِب العدالة الاجتماعية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا خلال عصرنا الحالي.

The webinar is part of the thematic cycle “Understanding the social question in the Middle East and North Africa” by The Centre for Social Sciences Research and Action. By undertaking a historical and political survey of the progressive reconfigurations of the social question in the region, this webinar series wishes to contribute to better understand the construction of social justice demands in contemporary Middle East and North Africa.

تهدف هذه الندوة إلى تقديم البحث الذي أجراه نديم حيدر بين شباط/فبراير وتشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ٢٠٢٢ في إطار برنامج الزمالة حول العدالة الاجتماعية لمركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية. تستند مداخلة نديم حيدر إلى دراسته المنشورة على موقع المركز (متوفّر عبر هذا الرابط) والتي تبحث في التصوُّرات السياسية للمتظاهرين/ات الذين/اللواتي شاركوا/ن في التحرُّك الاجتماعي الحاشد عام ٢٠١٩ في لبنان، أو ما يُعرَف بـ"ثورة تشرين". تتناول هذه المداخلة المفاهيم والتفسيرات المختلفة للعدالة الاجتماعية التي ارتكزت عليها تحرُّكات وتصوُّرات المشاركين/ات في هذا الحراك.

This webinar is to present the research conducted by Nadim Haidar between february and november 2022 in the framework of the centre’s Social Justice Fellowship Programme. During this roundtable, Dr. Michele Scala will present the Centre for Social Sciences Research & Action ongoing work on social protection in Lebanon, analysing the articulation of intersectional discriminations and privileges of the current social protection framework, and proposing ways forward for reform. Access Center for Human Rights (ACHR) is publishing a report titled "Refugees Without Protection," This annual report sheds light on the various human rights violations against Syrian refugees observed and/or documented by Access Center for Human Rights during the year 2020 and presenting an overview of Lebanon's obligations under national law and international treaties.

This webinar aims to discuss access to healthcare in the region from a human-right based perspective. It will reflect on various contexts and systemic challenges countries in the region are facing in the health sector, and explore how to push forward the enactment of universal and inclusive healthcare systems for all throughout the life cycle.
