تندرج هذه الندوة في إطار سلسلة من الندوات أطلقها مركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية تحت عنوان "فهم المسألة الاجتماعية في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا". من خلال إجراء مسح تاريخي وسياسي لعمليات إعادة التشكيل التدريجي للمسألة الاجتماعية في المنطقة، تطمح سلسلة الندوات هذه إلى المساهمة في تحقيق فهم أفضل لعملية بناء مَطالِب العدالة الاجتماعية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا خلال عصرنا الحالي.

The webinar is part of the thematic cycle “Understanding the social question in the Middle East and North Africa” by The Centre for Social Sciences Research and Action. By undertaking a historical and political survey of the progressive reconfigurations of the social question in the region, this webinar series wishes to contribute to better understand the construction of social justice demands in contemporary Middle East and North Africa.

The main aim of [YouCOME] project “mYOUth Digital Marketing Leaders for Sustainable Development” is to generate and disseminate knowledge regarding sustainability and social responsibility to provide youth with non-profit Digital Marketing Mix and Social Media tools for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.

In early 2022, JLI launched our first three regional learning hubs, in the Middle East, Syria, and East Africa. Each regional hub has embarked on an individual journey of mapping, networking, engagement, and learning with local actors from the region. This series will explore those journeys, and will showcase the challenges, opportunities, successes, and learning that happens when we shift the power. في إطار البرنامج البحثي حول العدالة الاجتماعية الذي يُديره مركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية، تهدف هذه الجلسة إلى فهم التحدّيات والهشاشة التي يواجهها كبار السنّ في لبنان واعتمادهم/نّ على مختلف آليات الحماية الاجتماعية ومقدّمي الخدمات (من الجهات الرسمية وغير الرسمية).

As part of the Centre for Social Sciences Research & Action’s (CeSSRA) research programme on social justice, this webinar looks at the current challenges and vulnerabilities of elderly people in Lebanon and their reliance on different social protection mechanisms and providers (formal and informal).

Lebanon of Tomorrow organized a three-day-back-to-school event that provided essential support to children in the community. The event included the distribution of free school bags and stationary kits to help kids start the school year with the necessary tools. Additionally, the organization offered free medical tests, including eye exams, to ensure that the children were in good health before heading back to school.

The EU-funded Integrated Border Management Projects (EUIBMLBN3) is inviting local organizations and businesses across different sectors to contribute and shape the “Integrated National Maritime Strategy of Lebanon”.  A series of consultation sessions will result in their contribution feeding into the Lebanese National Maritime Strategy that will serve the country.

This session is part of the webinar series launched by CeSSRA on “The Politics of Social Justice in Lebanon: Between Citizenship, Identities and Compounding Crises” aimed at analysing the current social protection system and its limitations. It seeks to inform public policy debates, and shift social justice and protection narratives and programmes from charity to a citizen-based approach.

The Middle East and North Africa Evaluation Network (EVALMENA) General Assembly 2022 is taking place on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May in Lebanon. Professional Development workshops are taking place on Friday May 6th.

عبر إعادة تسليط الضوء على المسألة الاجتماعية كركيزة للتحليل، تسعى هذه الندوة الثالثة إلى تقديم لمحة عامّة عن التوتّرات الاجتماعية القديمة والجديدة التي يشهدها المجتمعان التونسي والمصري حاليًا. وتهدف الندوة من خلال ذلك إلى تحدّي المقاربات السائدة القائمة على ثنائية النجاح/الفشل، والتي يُفسَّر على أساسها التطوّر التاريخي للمنطقة في مرحلة ما بعد الانتفاضات الشعبية.

By bringing back the social question at the center of the analysis, this third seminar aims at providing an overview of the old and new social tensions that are currently crossing the Tunisian and Egyptian societies. In so doing, the webinar seeks to challenge the dominant dichotomic success/failure approaches with which the post-Uprising historical development of the region has been understood.
