Social Media Specialist

ICRC is recruiting a "Social Media specialist" Job Purpose: The Social Media specialist manages ICRC´s social media platforms, and develops content to feed these. He/she promotes the organization´s online visibility and encourages engagement from social media users with humanitarian issues.   Your profile: University degree in Communication/Journalist 3 - 5 years’ work experience in managing social media High skills and experience on storytelling for social media Very good skills on web (SEO) and social analytics Good audio-visual production skills and good content visualization skills (“Final Cut” software) Very good analytical and writing skills Confirmed capacity to analyse the political and social environment in relation to social media Very good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic and English Function description: - In charge of social media Produces innovative content for ICRC social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram notably), in English and Arabic Identifies key social media influencers and builds a network with these Develops the social media strategy Prepares regular reports and statistics on the web and social media platforms - Supporting role: Environmental Scanning Monitors and analyses social media trends and their impact on the organization (reputation issues notably) In coordination with the Public Communication (Media) Officer, regularly monitors online/social media, and identify potential and actual perception/reputation problems for the ICRC - Supporting role: production of content Leads and/or supports the production of audiovisual material (short films) and visual content (infographics; timelines, etc.) for social media platforms What we offer: Working for one of the main humanitarian organizations in the world. We are currently responding to the rapidly growing needs of displaced people fleeing war and violence across the region into Lebanon as well as the local communities hosting them.The ICRC activities on behalf of people affected by war and violence in Lebanon include, but are not limited to, ensuring people affected by conflict can get access to basic health care, services such as water and electricity and restore their economic security, securing humane treatment and conditions for detainees, building respect for the IHL and supporting the families of the missing persons. We are based in Beirut and have offices in Tripoli, Tyr and Zahle.
