MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
In consultation with the emergency manager, ensure coordination of the government response in the child protection sector including existing services and in collaboration with key sectors lead and partners.
Provide technical back up to social development centers, to ensure activities are designed in line with CCCs and IASC standards for mental health and psychosocial services in humanitarian action.
Support development of strategies and mechanisms to scale up the child protection response to the emergency, especially in the psychosocial sector.
Provide technical support and assistance for development or amendment of action plans with a focus on the psychosocial sector.
Support the MoSA SDC unit in the design, delivery and monitoring of emergency activities targeting refugee children displaced from Syria.
With support from the Operations coordinator, coordinate procurement and distribution of supplies related to CFS and SDC’s
Identify opportunities to work with other sectors to strengthen overall protections for children and women by integrating protection activities within their emergency response programs.
Ensure partners use standardized formats to collect data on beneficiaries reached.
Undertake regular field monitoring of activities.
Represent the Ministry of Social Affairs in child protection-related meetings (CPieWG- SubWG. MHPSS WG) and other technical meetings, as required.
Support the Program Manager oversight and management of funds for the CP emergency response, with a focus on SDC’s projects.
Provide inputs on child protection concerns through notes to inform government planning and funding needs.
Coordinate with the Juvenile Protection Department at MoSA on the implementation of the CP strategy and the adaptation of the emergency response to the country’s rules and implementation mechanisms.
Coordinate with the Higher Childhood Council at the Ministry of Social Affairs in the development of strategies and policies related to Child Protection in Emergencies.

• Advanced university degree in social work, international relations, law, child psychology, or relevant field.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in child protection programming in natural disaster and/or armed conflict contexts, especially in the psychosocial sector.
• Knowledge of the Lebanese public administration and sector organization is a must.
• Knowledge of International Standards for child protection in emergency (core commitments for children in humanitarian action)
• Knowledge of IASC IASC standards for mental health and psychosocial services in humanitarian action and other related CFS standards and guidelines.
• Fluency in Arabic (verbal and written). Good written and spoken skills in the language of the humanitarian operation: English.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in child protection programming in natural disaster and/or armed conflict contexts, especially in the psychosocial sector.
