Public Health Field Officer

General objective   Under the direct supervision of Health Program Manager, the Health Field Officer is responsible for providing quality information and health education and hygiene promotion to beneficiaries for disease prevention and increasing their access to healthcare, while respecting PU-AMI’s overall principles. Moreover, he/she will be responsible for monitoring, information gathering and reporting of the beneficiaries health status, with a focus on the early indentification of communicable diseases.   Responsibilities and tasks   Activities implementation -        Participate in the identification of potential project for beneficiaries in the targeted areas -        Participate in health-related needs assessments -        Conduct surveys using specific formats, according the guidance of the Health Program Manager -        Participate in the implementation of the project impact survey -        In collaboration with the Public health Team, Health Project Manager and Health coordinator, participate in the creation and dissemination of IEC (Information, Education, Communication) material -        Implement community based surveillance system activities as per guidance of the Heatlh Project Manager -        Ensure the dissemination of information about the referral system to the beneficiaries -        Participate in the organization of health awareness activities in the health facilities and communities -        Ensure field level monitoring of the health education related activities -        Respect the confidentiality of the beneficiaries -        Any other activity related to the implementation of the health program requested by the line manager   Reporting & Follow-up -          Be in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries, collect complaints and suggestions -          Contribute to work related reports -          Report orally on the progress of the public health activities on a daily and weekly basis -          Report immediately any delay, problem or other relevant information to the  Program Manager -          Immediately report any potential outbreaks to the Program Manager.   The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.
