This session aims to provide an informal space for discussing the relationship of (in)visible identification (as women, men, LGBT, queer) to the types of political action possible. As such, we aim to discuss how visibility functions politically in Beirut, and how does its gendered manifestation shape the ways in which we choose our political strategies and do politics. To facilitate the discussion, we will touch upon themes such as “coming out”, as well as parts of the “identity politics” versus “queer politics” debate. We’ll do so through reflecting upon the politics of local civil society...

Survivors of violence against women deserve the best possible support and care. It is our duty to provide this care. This training will help us understand how to do this – in line with internationally-recognized standards of good practice.
