Grounded in institutional practice, the webinar will focus on lessons learned rather than abstract prescriptions. It aims to open a candid conversation about how independent centres can sustain both intellectual integrity and cross-sector relevance while adapting to evolving funding realities.

In early 2022, JLI launched our first three regional learning hubs, in the Middle East, Syria, and East Africa. Each regional hub has embarked on an individual journey of mapping, networking, engagement, and learning with local actors from the region. This series will explore those journeys, and will showcase the challenges, opportunities, successes, and learning that happens when we shift the power. This workshop co-organised by Lebanon Support and the Arab NGO Network for Development aims to place the localisation debate in a longer temporality of global discussions that have shaped international cooperation during the past decades, and at bringing back equal and balanced partnerships at the heart of these discussions, and initiate a process towards the adoption and enactment of a civil society charter in Lebanon.
