This workshop co-organised by Lebanon Support and the Arab NGO Network for Development aims to place the localisation debate in a longer temporality of global discussions that have shaped international cooperation during the past decades, and at bringing back equal and balanced partnerships at the heart of these discussions, and initiate a process towards the adoption and enactment of a civil society charter in Lebanon.

This training explores social work practice in light of these contextual and relational dynamics, taking a step back to redirect our actions where necessary and to the extent possible. By exploring various tools and sharing experiences, it aims at better understanding power dynamics that emerge and form in the field and at exploring new approaches for interventions. The objective is to enable the implementation of fair and equitable projects for all.
This training is open to persons working in the field of aid and development. It offers a space to reflect on the approaches we adopt in the field while considering power dynamics and revisiting the way we really ensure empowerment.
The event is a Panel Discussion in association with Caritas Lebanon and the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development to discuss the Participation of the Non-Governmental Organizations and Institutions in the Execution of the United Nations Sustainable Development Plan.
