"Soft" WASH Field Officer

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain a continuous field presence to support activities related to the “Soft” WASH component implementation in the different target communities
• Carry out weekly field visits reporting to “Soft” WASH HQ Officer and adhere to pre-defined reporting guidelines
• Ensure that monthly activities are implemented on field level as per set monthly activity plan and report on any changes/modifications from field level to the “Soft” WASH HQ Officer
• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of “Soft” WASH related activities closely on field level and determine best practices as well as areas for improvement if needed
• Participate and support in conducting meeting and workshops when required.
• Ensure that gender, protection, the environment and other important crosscutting concerns are respected in field level in the implemented activities and that specific population are taken into consideration and not neglected.

Operational/Technical Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure WASH program tools are appropriately adapted to the relevant field context by monitoring the use of tools and if necessary contributing to the revision of tools
• Ensure timely water sampling activities according to plans and maintain quality standards during sample collection carried out by volunteers
• Participate in the monthly preparation of a field visit and activity plan
• Maintain necessary documentation for field visits (photos. Monitoring sheets, reports etc.

Function Specific Experience

• Experience in field implementation of program/projects
• Sectorial experience in e.g. WASH programs, hygiene promotion activities, environmental activities, community-based approach
• Previous experience as an LRC volunteer is an asset

Industry Related Experience

• Previous experience in working on the field with NGO’s in Lebanon
• Previous experience in participatory hygiene promotion activities are an asset
