Monitoring, Evaluation And Learning Assistant (National Contract)

We are looking for a highly qualified who can fit the position of MEL Assistant in DRC Bekaa Office Who are we?  Danish refugee council has been operatingin the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.   DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.   For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.ngo  In Bekaa you will find one of the most historical places in the world such as the Baalbak temple. It is also a safe and relaxing environment but at the same time very close to Beirut.   About the job  The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will be working under the direct supervision of the Area Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. She/he will be responsible of communicating M&E information, gathering data from the field staff, follow up on activities and reporting.   Duties and Responsibilities  • Organize and conduct monitoring visits with DRC beneficiaries and to DRC program sites;  • Assist the MEL Officer/Manager carry out the daily/weekly/monthly work plan;  • Assist the MEL Officer/Manager with administrative and logistic requirements of the M&E Team;  • Ensure monitoring schedule, data collection targets, and reporting deadlines are adhered to;  • Assist with all other duties as required by the MEL Officer/Manager.   About you  To be successful in this role you must have At least 1-2 years relevant work experience – preferably in social work, community development, non-government, and/or outreach organizations;   In this position, you are expected to demonstrate DRC’ five core competencies:   Striving for excellence: You focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.   Collaborating: You involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.   Taking the lead: You take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.   Communicating: You listen and speak effectively and honestly.   Demonstrating integrity: You act in line with our vision and values.   Moreover we also expect the following:  Required qualifications  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access required;  • Good knowledge of local context and community in the Bekaa area;  • Experience using survey and/or database software and tools.  Desirable qualifications  “Ideally, you will also have…”  • Experience working with communities, families and individuals with special needs  • Undergraduate degree/advanced diploma in social sciences, humanities, quantitative/qualitative research methods, public health, or related field OR high school diploma with significant professional experience;  • Languages: Fluency (native speaker) in written and spoken Arabic, good working knowledge of written and spoken English;   We offer  DRC will offer the successful applicant a fixed term contract until end of December 2017, you must be available to start work as soon as possible and be willing and able to work in Bekaa.  Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies.
