English Language Educator

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland is the official humanitarian relief agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America.  Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has delivered $488 million in relief and development programs to families and communities in more than 50 countries.  IOCC is looking for an English language educator who will be responsible for giving morning English language sessions for children aged 4 to 10 years old, in the community center in Sed Bouchrieh.  Responsibilities and Essential Functions Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the children Participate in ongoing trainings provided by the Education Specialist and the Psychologist. Maintain attendance records Promote a positive and safe learning environment Teach in a manner that respects the dignity and right of all students Promote high expectations of students and help each student to reach his/her full potential. Participate in weekly meeting with the education and psychosocial team to follow up on the children status and progress. Participate in parents’ meetings in order to make the education support more efficient. Make necessary and timely referrals when needed, respecting confidentiality and the beneficiary’s right Ensure timely reporting on activities to the Field Coordinator. Perform other duties as required or assigned   Qualifications Knowledge, skills and abilities: Good organizational skills. Dynamic personality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and initiative taker.  Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations. Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in education Previous experience in NGO and humanitarian field is an advantage. Previous experience in working with children and vulnerable populations is an advantage.     Working Conditions Stationed in Sed Bouchrieh Preferable that candidate resides in Beirut-Mt Lebanon area 6-month project. Contracted per hour
