Music Educator

  The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) provides educational opportunities for at-risk, out of school children in Beirut (behind the Sport City). We are currently seeking a Music Educator for the preschool and elementary school levels (KG 2 to grade 5), children aged 4 to 14. This is a part-time position: 3 days a week from 8.00 to 2.00., 1 day from 8.00 to 3.30 Primary Responsibilities: Use exciting methods and instructional up –to- date material and musical instruments to  sing with the children and  teach Music Lead a choir and/or, if possible, teach the recorder or the xylophone, etc. Plan, prepare, animate, lead and mediate in a creative way. Show class management skills Show self-motivation, enthusiasm, and creativity. Work effectively with team members. Reporting: The Educator reports to the Coordinator   Skill Requirements: A full commitment to Tahaddi core values and humanitarian mandate Full adherence to Tahaddi policies Strong Arabic language skills. French and English are desirable with at least one with fluency Good relational skills with a positive and encouraging spirit Nonjudgmental attitude, maturity and patience in dealing with children and community members of different backgrounds Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context Computer literate, be at least familiar with MS Office software package and Music software.  The candidate must be in alignment with Tahaddi core values of justice for all, integrity and compassion.
