Chid Protection Coordinator

The Child Protection Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all the protection activities and supervising the social worker at Kayany Schools in Central Bekaa. He/she coordinates with the Education Coordinator and reports to the Area Manager.   Key Responsibilities   1) Provide case-management for beneficiaries when needed: -Work directly with the school supervisors when it relates to special procedures for referred students -Provide proper case-management for Kayany Foundation beneficiaries- especially for high-risk cases -Provide initial therapy sessions when required    2) Capacity Building and Supervision -Prepare awareness/training sessions about psychosocial support for teachers, field staff and parents (when needed) -Train Kayany Foundation teachers on the provision of psychosocial support -Advocate on all mental health related issues or/and concerns -Ensure all the Child Protection guidelines are being followed -Supervising the social worker and ensuring that the PSS and case-management sessions are being performed according to the international child protection guidelines    3) Efficiently utilize the CP referral system at Kayany Foundation -Utilize the referral system to mental health specialized services in the area -Referring and following up with cases to specialized parties when needed -Maintain a database with all the cases [received and referred], along the weekly updates on case-management -Analyze, detect and reduce the risk factors influencing the mental health status of referred students -Develop and perform preventive measures   4) Reporting -Be consistent and highly organized with documentation -Maintain an up-to-date database with all the case-management and case-referral files -Prepare reports whenever required by the area manager   Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes -To behave with self-restraint at all times and respect the dignity of the beneficiaries. -To be able to work as part of a team -To believe in concepts of equity, human rights, neutrality and impartiality. -Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating in any capacity building activities -Good coordination and communication skills are a key factor to this position -Excellence in organizing, planning and prioritizing tasks -Ability to identify strengths and weakness and in proposing shared solutions for the continuous improvement of providing quality services
