Intro
TDH IT is looking for a Community Facilitator in order to cover the needs of Syrian Refugee and vulnerable Lebanese children in Junieh and Jbeil within the Child Protection (CP) intervention of Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH IT) “Strengthening Protection for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese girls and boys and their caregivers through quality prevention and response services” in Mount Lebanon.
Major Responsibilities:
To coordinate with the Community Empowerment Officer the implementation of outreach activities in each of the areas covered by the project through community volunteers, supervising and supporting them;
To support the Community Volunteers in the implementation of the CP activities;
To write periodical reports on the activities to the Community Empowerment Officer;
To maintain regular contacts with the local stakeholder, with a specific focus on Syrian Community residing in the area, Lebanese local Community and Local Authority.
To conduct Community Outreach activities (home visits, assessments, focus group, community meetings, awareness sessions).
To support the Community Empowerment Officer in the organization of the Community Committees;
To support in the preparation of special events, recreational, cultural and sport activities together with project staff.
To participate in coaching and training sessions.
To participate in the preparation, execution and organization of awareness sessions, if needed.
To perform all organizational and administrative work related to outreach team, including reimbursements for Community Volunteers and regular reporting to the Community Empowerment officer;
To assess the needs of beneficiaries and to contribute to identify and refer – internally and externally, children at risk;
To plan and request the material needed for the activities of the Community Empowerment team;
Keep a database of stakeholders and local partners;
To comply with the TDH IT Code of Conduct and Visibility standards.

Other Internal and/or external contacts: Child Protection Officer/Expert, Team Leader, Project Coordinator
Internal: other members of TDH IT programs in the field
External: local partner –Other NGOs/INGOs
Qualifications and experience
Preferable studies in social and behavioral science or any other related field;
6 months’ minimum work experience in similar position;
Child Protection knowledge and understanding;
Ability to work well in a team, under pressure and in response to changing needs.
Experience in and knowledge of the Syrian situation and response is considered a strong asset;
Excellent communication skills;
Advocacy and negotiation skills;
Commitment to the aims, principles and values of TDH IT;
Valid Driving license is compulsory. Use of personal car for work may be needed.
