Intro
TDH IT is looking for a Child Protection Officer (Junior)in order to cover the needs of Syrian Refugee and vulnerable Lebanese children manly in Junieh area within the Child Protection (CP) intervention of Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH IT) “Strengthening Protection for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese girls and boys and their caregivers through quality prevention and response services” in Mount Lebanon.
Major Responsibilities:
Support the Child Protection Officer (CPO) in providing technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of PSS activities provided to vulnerable children/adolescents and their families in community centres, SDCs and/or outreach
Make frequent centres visits to monitor the implementation of activities, identify opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed including staff training
Make frequent visits to monitor the implementation of the activities in outreach
Support the CPO in developing training programmes and assist in capacity building for staff and partners, possibly in priority thematic areas such as CP, psychosocial support, community resilience
Support in designing trainings and capacity building plans for TDH staff including community volunteers, partners, CBOs and LNGOs members and SDCs
Support the CPO in supervising the work of staff involved in the psychosocial support activities
Support the CPO in writing report on a monthly basis to the Project Manager and the Child Protection Expert
Support in drafting the quarterly and final reports to be sent to the donors
Empower the field staff trough trainings and coaching on identification of children
To closely coordinate with the CPO, Coordinator and the CEO to ensure effective delivery of age-appropriate activities in the Community Center/SDCs and MU;
Liaise with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs.

Qualifications and experience
University Degree in humanitarian affairs, social science, law, development studies, psychology, human sciences or relevant field.
At least 1-year of progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian affairs, human rights, child protection, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief or rehabilitation or other related area with a minimum of 6 months’ experience in emergency response or humanitarian relief context (though experience in a development context is also highly regarded).
Able to work in unstable, uncertain or potentially dangerous environments, independently and in a team.
Strong cross-cultural communication and resilience skills are very important.
Experience in supervising and mentoring other staff.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
