Referral Nurse

§  Facilitate MSF referrals to other facilities: ensure that MSF patients are referred according to the adequate criteria and that the documentation is adequately written.ensure contacts and procedures with UNHCR for registered refugees. §  Contacting the admission office of the referral hospitals according to the priority list and MSF protocols. §  Be available for transfer of patients in ambulance, ensuring quality of care on transfer of patients in line with MSF standards & protocols. §  Daily checkup of the referral bag, to ensure all equipment, medications and materials are up to date and available. Report back to manager in case of any missing or expired items. §  Assist patients experiencing difficulties in accessing referral hospitals, through the fast track registration availble in hospitals for non-registered Syrian patients with UNHCR. §  Receive patient’s calls and assist in any problems faced regarding the referral system and inform direct line manager. §  Refer patients that do not benefit from MSF coverage to the social worker or other NGO or institution.. §  Developping and Monitoring the referral hospitals network and identify possible facilities to be added in the networking when needed. §  Monitoring the referral system and propose solutions to the upcoming problems §  Participate to medical meeting and Hospital management meeting with a proactive and propositive attitude §  When requested participate to external meeting with other actors involved in the referral process (other hospitals, UNHCR, NextCare, MoPH…) §  Maintain quality of data collection for patients referred to secondary health care, including indications, treatments, outcomes, etc, using the proper excell files. §  Maintain good communication and relations with the referral hospitals & their representatives, as well as with UNHCR and report any concerns or problems directly to his/her direct line Manager. Assist and support the Nurses in the IPD (In Patient department) according to MSF protocols and policies when possible
