Vocational Assistant

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is an apolitical neutral organization whose objective is to provide immediate and long-term support to vulnerable population affected by natural disasters, armed conflicts and other types of crisis. SIF has been present in Lebanon since 2012, implementing projects aiming at distributing assistance to the Syrian refugee populations affected by the conflict in Lebanon. This program allowed SIF contributing to the improvement of the well-being of the children and their families. In response to the current crisis in Syria, and the growing numbers of refugees coming to Lebanon, SIF is expending its humanitarian response and will scale-up its emergency support to Syrian refugees and affected population. SIF is currently recruiting 2 Vocational training assistant to begin immediately; 1 will be based in Beirut and 1 in Bakaata,  will support SIF’s Child friendly spaces in Bakaata and Ein el Roummaneh  Area Furthermore, Vocational training assistant  will be in contact with other SIF members to harmonize and share tools as well as lessons learnt. The 2 Vocational training assistant are part of the Protection Program team of SIF-Lebanon and will be under the line management of the  Vocational Training Focal point   MISSION CONTEXT The SIF project aims at strengthening the identification of vulnerabilities, their assessment and adequate referrals to existing services. The Vocational training Officer jointly with the team will ensure the identification of most vulnerable beneficiaries in need of vocational training. Strong coordination with other actors in the area of intervention is the pillar of this program and the referral mechanism will guarantee the referral from others partners. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Contribute in organizing field meeting with the community disseminating the main topic of the project and the vocational training opportunities for youth. Actively participate in the collection of data for beneficiary verifications and households assessments related to vocational training Assist in the data collection on the local labour market and enter collected information on job vacancies, training opportunities and self-employment support programmes into the database  Conduct profiling to check if the beneficiaries meet SIF criteria or not  and vocational trainings assessment in the field Support and supervise the regular attendance of beneficiaries in vocational training, Carry out awareness raising sessions and outreach activities to inform women and youth about services Collect all information sheets (beneficiary lists, registration forms, and others) at the training venue and submit them to the Vocational Training focal point after doing the proper data entry on a timely basis. Ensure a daily proper recording of data (# of trainees, Course, activities delivered, etc); Centralize all information gathered in the field and consolidate a daily report (into the proper reporting format); At the CFS the vocational training focal point should: Supervise the English and computer classes that will take place Attendance sheets, registration forms Data entry Help in any activity related to youth Support in planning for any event related to youth SME’s Mapping and CBOs Mapping in the area Submit completed tasks to the area supervisor and discuss developments REPORTING Reports directly to SIF’s Beirut Office, the Vocational Training focal point /line manager. S/he will submit the following reports at the end of each week: Ensure a daily proper recording of data (# of trainees, Course, activities delivered, etc); The Narrative Report which includes: the number of beneficiaries, actions taken, number activities conducted, Counseling activities, meeting, number of people attending the session with breakdown per age group and gender; ETHIC AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE Openness to working with refugees (Syrian, Palestinian, etc.) and deprived children Always respect of beneficiaries’ confidentiality Respect and promote SIF’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of SIF’s policies amongst the teams or partners Address needs and requests in a professional way Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others. Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers Always respect a refusal of treatment Respect to child Protection protocol and SIF code of conduct   PERSON QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications, experience and competencies University degree in Sociology, Social Workers or any other related degree 2 years’ experience in livelihood, community mobilization and participatory decision making highly preferred and valued Demonstrated experience and capacity in conducting emergency assessments, field-level data collection, and experience analyzing field data and concisely reporting on results. Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility and organizational skills NGO experience preferred Good experiences in counselling Experience in working with private sectors and understanding of job markets Good Command of English and Arabic (speaking and writing) Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel and Word Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in environment with tight deadlines; Rigorous, and polite Respect of SIF values and mandate   WORK RELATIONSHIPS Line manager: Vocational Training Focal point Line manager+1 protection Program Manager In direct cooperation with: Community Mobilizer and area supervisor Specify to which base are you applying for Send your application to SIF HR  hr.sif.lebanon@gmail.com
