Media & Communications Coordinator

The media and communications coordinator works closely with KAFA’s members to develop and implement media and communications strategies and activities that advance KAFA's mission, objectives, initiatives, and campaigns. It is preferred that she/he demonstrates a deep interest in issues related to feminism, gender, and gender-based violence, and has good knowledge and previous experience working on these topics. Key Responsibilities: 1-      Media and advocacy campaigns         -  Develop and implement media strategies/campaigns in coordination with KAFA program managers and external consultants, based on the needs, activities, and plans of each program, with the objective of reaching KAFA’s advocacy goals;  -  Liaise and coordinate between KAFA and external consultants or companies in various creative fields and areas of expertise (such as artists, designers, production companies, media planners, etc.) -  Identify the adequate tools and platforms to deliver messages, knowledge and important information; -  Assess campaigns’ performance and reach when possible.   2-      Work and relationship with the press -  Coordinate with the press and key media players on the various issues KAFA is working on (deliver information and press releases for journalists, coordinate media interviews between journalists and KAFA's spokespersons, request appearances for KAFA, coordinate between the press and KAFA’s beneficiaries in Beirut and Chtaura centers);  -  Represent KAFA in media interviews; -  Keep an updated contact sheet and data base of journalists and other media personnel; -   Deliver media coverage for KAFA’s campaigns and activities; -   Monitor media coverage.   3-      Content creation:  -   Write news pieces, press releases/ statements and occasionally produce IEC materials;  -   Assist the different teams in suggesting and producing new materials as per the needs of their program and the beneficiaries; -   Write media-related reports to funding agencies.   4-      Digital media: -  Manage KAFA’s digital presence on a daily basis, including the creation or sharing of content on KAFA’s social media platforms, generating audience engagement, and answering private messages (facebook, twitter, youtube), as well as on KAFA’s website and informative maps when updates are necessary; Review KAFA’s social media strategy and presence on a regular basis;  -  Regular technical follow-up with KAFA’s website developer.   5-      Documentation and archiving: -  Document links, texts, and pictures of cases of violence against children, and violence against women, as reported by the local media; -  Keep an organized and thematic archive of the reports.   6-      Production: -  Follow-up the execution and production of KAFA’s various materials and publications in close coordination with the program managers (request and compare offers, follow-up on the design and printing of studies, leaflets, manuals, etc.).
