OVERVIEW For the last six years, Lebanon has been at the forefront of one of the worst humanitarian crises, recognized for its protracted nature. Despite increasing economic, social, demographic, political, and security challenges, Lebanon has shown exceptional commitment, hospitality and solidarity and has welcomed around 1.5 million Syrian refugees. Despite the concerted efforts of the Government of Lebanon (GoL), the international community and civil society to mitigate the impact of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon, undergoing response is outpacing the GoLs’ ability and capacity to provide adequate services and assistance the affected populations, both displaced and host community. The Lebanon Crisis Response Plan (LCRP) is a joint GoL, United Nations and NGO plan that presents a strong collective vision to contribute to peace, security, stability and development for Lebanon, support the most vulnerable communities and protect the rights of all. The MoSA is mandated by the Inter- Ministerial Committee to oversee the Government’s response to the crisis in Lebanon. JOB DESCRIPTION   Under the supervision of the LCRP General Supervisor, the Junior Assistant Case Worker’s essential functions and responsibilities include: Provide support to vulnerable individuals/children/families with protection concerns in the process of psychosocial support and case management. Work with other caseworkers and service providers on management of caseload and referral. Participate in and support the identification of individual cases identified by the team or referred by other agencies. Conduct psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases, including environmental, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well-being. Plan with the Senior Social Worker/Social Work Team Leader to conduct home visits. Ensure the preparation of accurate case plans for high-risk cases identified with clear outcomes and time-frame. Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help beneficiaries to access needed resources and services. In collaboration with the Supervisor, ensure coordination with other service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing. Manage, fill, archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness. Monitor and follow up the outcome of the assistance provided. Be available to provide basic emotional support for urgent cases. Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients, according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the line manager. Participate in management of the hotline, if applicable. Participate in weekly casework allocation and planning meetings. Ensure that data protection protocols are respected. Be available to participate in meetings and training in and outside the center including case management meetings, case conference meetings or any other meetings when required. Communicate regularly with the Senior Social Worker/Social Work Team Leader for updates on achievements and challenges. Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside of the center.. Identify social needs of patients through a social assessment. Respond to the patient’s social needs, according to the scope of the project, by giving direct social support (as transport, food, legal advice, etc.) and/or refer to other social actors, in order to actively contribute to the improvement of their quality of living. Contact patients to follow up the evolution of their condition when needed (home visits, defaulter tracing). Participate in the creation of any material needed for the activities of social workers. Take care of social services facilities, materials and equipment in order to ensure continuity. Map and regularly update of social partners, local authorities, other NGOs, and governmental social services in order to improve social services scope and responsiveness. Keep records, statistic and files updated, reporting any social activity, in order to prioritize and develop appropriate programs or projects. Participate and follows up on distribution activities. Establish and maintain working relationship, in his/her area/camp, with allied resources, public assistance agencies, employment and training institutes and social agencies, at the operational level, making use of their services.  Participate, as requested, in workshops, meetings intended to improve professional knowledge and skills relevant to his/her field of work and transmits such acquired knowledge to other social workers; mentor newly recruited social worker. Accomplish any other assignments allocated by line managers.    QUALIFICATIONS   Minimum Requirements University Degree Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Social Anthropology or any other related degree. Post-graduate degree will be considered as an advantage. At least 1-2 years of experience in NGO work. Experience in community mobilization and networking A full commitment to the MoSA’s core values. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic. Proficiency in the use of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to cope and work under pressure. Dynamic, self-motivated, conscientious, professional, devoted, honest and discreet. Excellent intercultural, teamwork and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice. Respect beneficiary confidentiality.
