  Terms of Reference Gender Junior Researcher About Lebanon Support Lebanon Support is an independent non-governmental, non-religious, non-political, and non-profit making information and research centre. Established in 2006, Lebanon Support was registered as a National Non-Governmental Organisation in November 2008 (registered under the number 168/2009 AD). Lebanon Support aims at enhancing civil society capacity, efficiency and effectiveness through the creation of public spaces for reflection, collaboration and debate on and for civil society in Lebanon.   Lebanon Support adopts a multidisciplinary approach and evidence and fact-based methodologies in civil society work in Lebanon so as to support and develop a civic voice and a better impact towards better accountability and societal change in Lebanon.   Within this framework Lebanon Support focuses on information and knowledge sharing and management, production and delivery; as it is within Lebanon Support’s beliefs, that information and knowledge are at the heart of developing adequate strategies and interventions to reduce existing vulnerabilities and marginalisation in the country. Background Lebanon Support is undertaking, in partnership with the HIVOS, research on “Women, power, and politics”, part of the Hivos Women Empowered for Leadership (WE4L) programme.   The Junior Researcher is to undertake the following tasks, under the supervision of the Senior Gender Advisor, Lebanon Support’s Head of Research, and in close coordination with Lebanon Support’s Project Manager, as well as the Director of Publications. Tasks: Develop a methodology for the research Collect evidence-based knowledge on women in Lebanon from a history and politics perspective Research knowledge gaps this will include desk research and fieldwork in order to collect relevant and accurate data Undertake necessary fieldwork using the agreed upon methodology. Fieldwork notes ought to be shared with Lebanon Support, after finalisation of the fieldwork Coordinate with project partners on identifying research subjects, and collaboratively developing research content Coordinate with LS and project partners on presenting the research in various formats, including visual ones Integrate feedback from Lebanon Support, as well as editorial notes in the final version of the research by end of February.
