1) Job Title: PSS Assistant 2) Grade: 3) Duty station: 3) Date of Issue: 3) Aim: Provide psychosocial support to children, caregivers and adolescent boys  who have experienced or are at high risk of experiencing a child protection or GBV violation. 4) Reporting lines a)       Reports to: Projects Manager b)       Subordinates: None 5) Responsibilities 1.       Deliver PSS in line with global and national inter-agency SOPs/standards 2.       Ensure that  children, caregivers and adolescent boys are registered in focused PSS activities without creating stigma and/or judgement 3.       Create a safe space where participants can voice their opinions, thoughts and emotions, share experiences and brainstorm on solutions in a confidential and respectful manner 4.       Actively identify the most vulnerable: children at high risk of or engaged in child labor and/or early marriage and their caregivers and ensure their enrollment in AL Moasat’s focused PSS programs (including referring high risk adolescent girls to focused PSS) 5.       Ensure ALL children, caregivers (and adolescent boys if needed) in focused PSS sessions are referred to case management 6.       Coordinate closely with mental health service providers in the area to ensure children and caregivers in need are supported with mental health services 7.       Adapt the location and timing of sessions, content and approach of the focused PSS program to the needs  and availability of the participants including children with special needs 8.       Ensure that the caregivers of children engaged in child labor are referred to livelihood opportunities 9.       Ensure that all children and adolescent boys in focused PSS are referred to education services or livelihood opportunities for those above 15 years old 10.    Ensure that ALL children and caregivers accessing focused PSS are referred back to community based PSS with other agencies working in Saida. 11.    Ensure the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during focused PSS (attendance sheets, permission slips, parental consent, referrals etc.) 12.    Maintain positive relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders; 13.    Closely coordinating with other relevant staff on protection issues. 14.    Perform any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the program manager 6) Essential attributes: a)       Essential qualifications: 1.       Bachelor in social work, teaching, child development or other related field 2.       Excellent knowledge of child protection and GBV and PSS basic principles 3.       Excellent knowledge of child development and adult learning techniques 4.       Excellent communication and psychosocial first aid skills 5.       Excellent facilitation skills 6.       Excellent knowledge of the negative impacts of child labor on child development 7.       Excellent knowledge of the worst and other forms of child labor 8.       Good knowledge of CP and GBV case management principles 9.       Ability to work flexible working hours   b)       Essential experience: 1.       2 to 3 years of experience providing psychosocial activities to high risk children and caregivers 2.       At least 1 year experience providing psychosocial support to adolescent boys   7) Preferred attributes a)       Preferred qualifications: Master degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field   b)       Preferred experience: 3 years of experience as a child protection caseworker with children engaged in child labor and their caregivers Competency profile: Flexibility Planning skills Systematic  Communication Teamwork skills Initiative(proactive) Result-oriented and accountability Professionalism Languages: Arabic English Others 8) Economic powers: a)       None
