1. Introduction and Background: The European Regional Development and Protection Programme (RDPP) is a four-year initiative with the objective to support Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq to better understand, plan, and mitigate the impact of forced displacement of Syrian refugees. In partnership with governments, civil society, NGOs, and UN agencies the programme seeks to enhance protection for displaced-affected populations and create socio-economic development opportunities. The RDPP is supported by a platform of eight European donors; European Commission (DEVCO), Ireland, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Norway and Denmark. Denmark manages the programme through the Programme Management Unit with offices in Beirut and Amman. The objectives of the programme are:  To ensure that refugees are fully able to avail themselves of a durable solution  To support socio-economic development in host countries that will benefit both the host populations and refugees. This is achieved through support to partnerships focusing on: • Research – To assess and analyse the impact of displacement on refugees and host communities and provide inputs for long-term planning. • Protection – To strengthen the protection of refugees through legal support, community empowerment and conflict mitigation, better capacities of national institutions for protection and asylum, and combating child labour • Advocacy and Political Dialogue – To improve and uphold refugees’ rights • Socio-economic development – To enhance economic opportunities and livelihood capacity of vulnerable populations through employment generation and business development. The RDPP prepares one annual report, which is submitted to the RDPP Steering Committee by end of August. 2. The position 2.1.  Title: Consultant 2.2.  Place of Service: Amman, Jordan or Beirut, Lebanon. The Consultant is expected to work the majority of the time from the RDPP office in one of these locations. Field travel is not expected. 2.3.  Duration: 2 months (July and August 2017) 2.4.  Reporting to Programme Manager in Beirut 2.5.  Nature of contract: Consultancy Agreement The main areas of responsibility and tasks will be: Coordinate preparation of the annual report and its annexes in accordance with the prepared workplan, resulting in the submission of a complete first draft to the Programme Manager by 15th August.  Review the reports submitted by partners for quality assurance ensuring that all necessary information/data are reflected and reported clearly and that they comply with the required RDPP standards and requirements. Follow up with partners on any clarifications required. Summarise the main achievements and results from partner reports. Draft a clear, short and well-formulated main sections of the annual report (context analysis, thematic section updates based on partner reports, draft on conclusions). Coordinate inputs from team members to sections of the report. Update the RDPP 'General Results Framework' with updated and aggregated data, in accordance with partners' updated logframe results. Quality assurance and editing of the final report and submission to Programme Manager Any other tasks as required in relation to the report and its annexes. 3. Profile / required qualifications The ideal candidate must have proven excellent English writing skills. S/he should also have several years professional experience in reporting/writing in the development and/or humanitarian fields with UN, donor agency, international / local NGO and similar. - Academic requirements - University degree in social sciences, economics or related disciplines. - Work experience required     Proven experience in reporting/writing in English with UN, donor agency, NGOs and similar, working in humanitarian or development aid.  Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in development and/or humanitarian fields with UN, donor agency, international / local NGO and similar, including working with project management cycle, logical framework and results based management.  Knowledge and experience in forced displacement-related programmes will be an asset. Languages           - Fluency in English (written and spoken) 4. Duration 2 months July - August, 2017. The Consultant must be available to start on 3rd July. 5.
