Project & Finance Coordinator (based In British Council Lebanon)
Purpose of job:
To support in the financial management and reporting of the Foreign Language Programme with partners, stakeholders, suppliers and wider target audiences in Lebanon and the UK to meet the British Council’s and UNHCR’s strategic objectives.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Accountabilities:
Provide guidance and support to the core business areas in relation to financial operations management in line with the overall objectives of the programme
Ensuring and managing process of payments involved in FLG Programme
Liaising with FLG coordinators to ensure accuracy in payments
Manage reporting and updates as per British Council and UNHCR reporting requirements
Responsibilities:
Ensure efficient management of financial operations and month/year end activities
Liaise and support the English Projects Manager to ensure overall objectives of the programme are running to UNHCR’s requirements.
Profile income and expenditure and analyse monthly/quarterly reports as per British Council/UNHCR requirements
Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and payments to mentors
Ensure accounting accuracy in all transactions entered on SAP and ensure the same is posted before month end
Review system generated trial balance and balance sheet on monthly basis.
Partner with operations teams to provide guidance and support on budget management and other analysis.
Maintain banking relationships
Coordinate actions with the SSC and the regional finance
Ensuring FCCF compliance and monthly FCCF reporting
Ensuring accurate recording of income in kind in SAP
Preparing financial reports and presentations at regular intervals as per requirements of senior management

Other important features or requirements of the job
Hours are variable according to events and can include evenings and occasional weekends. On certain days it may be necessary to work longer hours to cater for key deadlines.
Consultant fee is approximately $2500 per month.
Initially this will be for 7 months with a view to extending for another 6 months if project is extended.

Post holder must be eligible to work in Lebanon. When required, successful candidate needs to secure, at his/her own cost and liability, the appropriate work and residency permits and any other required document, as well as any renewals thereof, from the Lebanese competent authorities.
