Proposal And Report Writing

Background WCH is implementing a child protection/psychosocial programme through a network of CBOs. The programme builds the capacity of CBOs to be able to provide child protection activities, including psychosocial support and resilience-based awareness raising for children and adults. The activities conducted by CBOs are: awareness raising and community mobilisation activities, structured and semi structured psychosocial support for children and parents in child friendly spaces following WCH IDEAL methodology   Objective War Child Holland has identified writing reports and proposals as an area for development for national staff and partner staff, and is looking for a consultant to conduct a training  to develop this competence. The training will provide overall writing guidance, in  English language, by advising staff on the correct use of language, on the structuring of reports and proposals, and on the use of different styles and methods for effective communication and reporting. Tasks and Methodology: The consultant is envisaged to conduct a training for 3-4 days.   Areas to address shall include: • Different types of reports, recognizing the audience’s needs • Creating outlines, writing a rough draft • Applying a clear and logical structure • Meeting the objectives of each section • Writing summaries • Creating reader-friendly formats • Editing and proofreading reports • Donor compliance Qualifications and Experience: Essential: • Bachelor Degree in a relevant subject with relevant field experience • Significant experience of supporting internationally in humanitarian programmes in the capacity of fundraiser, programme manager or other relevant positions • Experience in leading the preparation successful funding (narrative and budget) proposals and reports for donors, including EC, ECHO, and UN agencies.  • Experience in capacity development and trainings • Experience in project management and project cycle management, including project design, implementation and evaluation • Good understanding of donor compliance and reporting mechanisms and requirements • Excellent written and spoken English   Desirable: • Language skills in Arabic • Experience in education, child protection and/ psychosocial programs • Knowledge of and experience in the Middle East   Duration of Contract: Approximately 2-4 days. Depending on training timeframe.
