Deputy Chief Of Party

Chemonics seeks a Deputy Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID Lebanon Enterprise Development (LED) project. LED aims to increase employment opportunities for Lebanese citizens by facilitating the provision of business development services to help Lebanese firms expand, increase sales, and generate jobs. The project will increase the competitiveness and enhance the growth of Lebanese client firms, improve Lebanon's business enabling environment, and communicate results and program knowledge through outreach with the public and private sectors. Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to: Contribute to the technical design and monitor implementation of the project work plan Promote synergy, unity of vision and coherence of activities in all technical components, crosscutting concerns, and geographic areas of focus, with special attention to capacity building. Specific component of the program include: creating jobs by increasing the competitiveness of Lebanese client firms, increasing growth potential of Lebanese client firms through a focus on capacity building, improving Lebanon’s business enabling environment, and actively communicating with the public and private sectors to share knowledge and results Ensure coherence between the technical scope, monitoring and evaluation, and communication departments Responsible for leading aspects of operations, grants, sub-contracts, staff including short-term consultants, finance and accounting of the project, as well as insuring coherence between technical and support staff Oversee delivery and timeliness for project deliverables Develop partnerships with partner donors, implementers, NGOs and stakeholders to foster collaboration in various areas of operation Provide on-the-job mentoring in order to insure transfer of skills and long-term sustainability of project initiatives Position Requirements: A graduate level degree or equivalent in administration, business, economics or another relevant field to the technical direction of day-to-day management of LED Minimum 5 years recent experience (within the last ten years) related to private business or development projects Minimum 2 years of management experience and demonstrated ability to cohesively bring staff together Outstanding Management skills, resourcefulness, flexibility and creative problem solving skills Excellent interpersonal, managerial and written communications skills Interest in working with a multicultural, international team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Excellent English skills. Arabic proficiency preferred
