Mobile Medical Unit (Mmu) Bus Driver-Central Bekaa

humedica has been operating in Lebanon since 2012, and is currently funded by the German Foreign Office. humedica is running two Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), serving approximately 30 informal tented settlements (ITS) in the Bekaa valley, providing free primary health care and medication for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese. In addition, humedica is supporting Primary Health Care Centers (PCHs) (under the administration of Ministry of Public Health) for both, Lebanese and Syrian patients. humedica is seeking a responsible Bus Driver and Assistant for its Mobile Medical Unit.   TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES: Your main responsibilities will be:   Transport humedica staff and volunteers to designated working areas. Drive carefully at all times and ensure safety of the passengers, other road users, and the assigned vehicle. Inform the manager of any incidents involving the transportation of passengers and/or goods. Ensure that all vehicle documents and the driver's driving license are valid and in the vehicle. Knowledge and respect of security guidelines and rules related to vehicle movements, specifically those related to customs, checkpoints, and roadblocks. Ensure all passengers know and respect the security rules. Take responsibility for any traffic violation (e.g. speed limit or any other traffic law). Ensure that the vehicle is clean and representative (especially the interior) at all times. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks to ensure that the vehicle is fully functional and secure at all times, including minor maintenance duties such as changing the oil, tires, checking radio equipment, charging the batteries on daily basis, etc. Daily interior cleaning is mandatory according to health & hygiene standards. Carry out a hand over if another driver uses the vehicle. Ensuring correct loading and unloading of the vehicle. Ensure the safety of the patients during their presence near the MMU waiting for their turn,  eliminate or mitigate the dangers of the outdoor space that will be used. Maintain schedules and order in and around the Mobile Medical Unit. Support the mobile medical team by setting up the space for delivery of activities. Assist the field officer (e.g. in patient registration and crowd control), if needed. Assist in other duties in the office as assigned by the immediate supervisor when not undertaking transport facilitation. This job description is not exhaustive, the job holder may have additional tasks.   CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract: Full-time – Fixed term contract Contract duration until Mid-February 2018, with possibility of extension Duration and working hours as per entrepreneurial contract Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. This Zahle-based position contributes to the mission of the organization by facilitating the humedica projects in Lebanon, particularly the MMU in Zahle and Central Bekaa.   Qualifications: Working experience 2 to 3 years Education degree: High School Lebanese driving license category 3 for at least 2 years Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment Basic mechanical skills Reliability, flexibility Arabic mandatory, Basic English skills necessary to communicate with supervisors Should be quick in understanding, keen on taking instructions, and able to work with minimum supervision Training in security protocols highly desirable NGO working experience desirable Ability to cope with difficult security context Able to work as part of a team and participate in all activities of the MMU Able and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment
