Value Chain Leader For Honey

BACKGROUND The Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development (LIVCD) is a five year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented under the leadership of Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI).  LIVCD Project aims to increase the competitiveness of selected value chains, expand the number of Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises that can compete in selected markets, improve linkages between those firms and other actors throughout the value chain, increase the gross value of products and services in local and export markets, and expand exports.  OBJECTIVES The Value Chain Specialist will assist the Value Chain Leader on working on all VC components and actors to develop a fully functional value chain.  S/he will work with coordinators and program beneficiaries on the implementation of projects, technical assistances, and the LIVCD training program.  SPECIFIC TASKS Develop value chain proposals, and provide input for coordination with the grants , M&E, and Access to Finance cross cutting teams Follow up on the implementation and the closing on all the honey VC grants with the grantees and coordinators ( quarterly reports, indicators and progress) Provide input for purchasing of equipment, and material for LIVCD program beneficiaries, and follow up on their timely delivery Coordinate with procurement team on the procurement requests, offers, committee meetings and delivery of equipment and hives. Provide M&E team with required information for the VC’s indicators Develop and maintain relationships with value chain actors Support in the development of all required reports for submission to USAID, including monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc requests and create success stories based on successful interventions. Other duties as directed by the Value Chain Leader/ Marketing and Export Field Technical Manager Work with VC leader and staff on the development of an exit strategy for LIVCD project  SUPERVISION The Value Chain Specialist will work under the direction and report to the Marketing and Export Field Technical Manager
