Environmental Consultant

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Emergency Response and Stabilization Coordinator the Environmental Consultant will be responsible for the environmental assessment and evaluation of the shortlisted community support projects submitted to IOM. Duties and responsibilites:   Reviewing the applications submitted to IOM and visiting the projects site. Assessing the environmental impact of the community support projects activities Making sure that the activities of the shortlisted projects are in compliance with the donor and Lebanese environmental regulations Developing environmental analysis report for the shortlisted applications. Developing Environmental Review and Assessment Checklist (ERAC) and  Environmental mitigation and Monitoring plan (EMMP) for selected projects Deliver training to IOM its’ implementing partner team on environmental compliance. Support program with regards to environmental compliance, whenever needed.     Qualifications and skills required: Technical analysis and reporting skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of International and Lebanese Environmental Regulations. Strong communication skills. Bachelor degree in Environment or related field- A master’s degree is a plus. At least 5 years of experience in Environmental Assessment.
