Project Coordinator Of An "early Childhood Education Project" (Eced)

Background and Context:   Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon is an independent non-profit organization established in 1983 by a group of Palestinian business and intellectual figures to provide development and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank (including Jerusalem), the Gaza Strip, 1948 Areas, and the Palestinian communities in Lebanon.  Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon works in close collaboration with local partners’ active in the Palestinian communities on four sectors: Education, Community Development (including health, disability and micro loans), Culture and Relief and Emergency Assistance.   Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon has been implementing since 2005 a holistic and multidimensional early childhood education program (ECED) that seeks to enhance the quality of ECED in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon. It works by supporting local non- governmental organizations that provide early childhood education through training of their KG teachers, enhancement of physical structure of KGs, supply of educational resources and support in networking with parents.   Funded by UNICEF, Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon is implementing an “Early Childhood Education Project” (ECED) which involves a number of activities mentioned above. Those include, awareness raising sessions, psychosocial activities for kids, rehabilitation of KGs, training and coaching teachers, etc. all taking place in the different Palestinian camps all over Lebanon (North, South, Baalbeck, and Beirut   Scope of Work Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager and in close coordination with technical consultant, the project coordinator is expected to undertake the following:   Coordinate the ECED project including the day to day planning and implementation of activities to ensure the proper achievement of projects deliverables (as set by the different project documents) in terms of cost, time and quality. Liaise and coordinate with the partner NGOs and support them for the efficient implementation of the ECED project activities; conduct regular field visits and meetings and provide all necessary technical back up to them. Solicit and review technical and financial reports from partner NGOs, ensure reporting and relevant documentations are up to standards  and fulfill the technical requirements Build and maintain effective networks with the different concerned stakeholders including UNRWA, partner NGOs, donors and the various implementing actors involved Liaise with colleagues from different programs and work in close collaboration with project officers responsible for other education initiatives within the ECED at Taawon; Support in the implementation of additional initiatives and activities under the ECED program Draft progress reports in accordance with Taawon’s templates and/or donor’s requirements; prepare success stories and any relevant documentations or visibility and communication material related to the ECED project Manage the program’s financials and ensure expenditures are made in accordance with the Taawon’s and the donor’s rules and regulations. Maintain accurate and organized financial records relevant to the project Support project’s internal or external evaluation exercise(s) and provide all necessary information  and documentations Support in resource mobilization and advice on possible funding opportunities for potential ECED initiatives; assist in drafting of project proposals or relevant fundraising activities. Perform any other duties as requested by Programs Manager Required Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies or any relevant field A minimum of 5 years working experience Demonstrated project management experience Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; proven ability to be flexible in a team-oriented approach with diverse groups of people Computer literate (Excel, PPT, etc) Fluent in English and Arabic Language (spoken and written) Familiarity with the Palestinian refugees context in Lebanon Previous experience working in a humanitarian/relief context  Experience required:  5 to 10 years   Education degree: Bachelor Degree Field of education: A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies or any relevant field
