Regional Psychologist (Middle East) Stress Management Of The Field Staff

Médecins Sans Frontières, an international medical and humanitarian association founded in 1971, provides medical assistance to communities faced with crises endangering their survival. These crises typically take the form of armed conflict but also include epidemics, natural catastrophes and even exclusion from healthcare. The French section of MSF is present in some thirty countries worldwide. STRESS MANAGEMENT OF THE FIELD STAFF You are responsible for the psychological support given to MSF-OCP field teams in the Middle East (Yemen, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, Palestinian territories). Mission : Carry regular Field visits to promote the activities and carry direct consultations to the national or international Staff; Provide psychological support at distance and on request to the national staff by skype or phone Carry Field visits in case of critical incident under the responsibility of the Psycho-social Unit; Develop a regional and local strategy to better support the staff (external consultant, others NGOs, etc); Give recommendations to the Operational Cell and Field about the psychological support; Increase the understanding of Stress Management to Coordinators and Activity Managers (stress definition, reactions, consequences, identification of troubled or at risk people); Prepares a monthly report about activities and monthly statistics to Operational Cell and Psycho social Unit in Paris; Reporting to: Hierarchical: Deputy Program Manager based in Dubai; Technical: Psycho-Social Unit cell based in Paris HQ Professional skills : Knowledge of MSF including field experience; Graduated in Psychology, good knowledge of Psycho-trauma and psychological debriefing; Good experience in stress management and conflict management; Diplomatic, good communication skills, ability to listen; Organized, flexible and autonomous; Time management: reactive, you know how to anticipate and manage your priorities; Ability to work under pressure. Mandatory: English and Arabic read, spoken and written   Contract duration : 12 months Position start date : May 2017 Deadline for submission : 31 March 2017
