Who are we?
The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.

About the job
Assist in implementing all community focused cash and livelihoods activities in various DRC projects, especially including community support projects, community based project planning, cash for work initiatives, and municipal training.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead the community based participatory planning process by building relationships with community members; Identify community actors and potential partners according to priority needs in the area
• Establish community groups and committies and design projects based on needs
• Design and analyse the need assessments phase with host and refugee communities
• Follow up on and analyse the community led project identification process with host and refugee communities to identify common priorities for a particular area
• Propose new activities according to identified needs and suggest solutions for problems encountered Evaluate performance and quality of interventions and provide constant feedbacks
• Identify beneficiaries to include in temporary income generation opportunities through Cash for Work via Community Support Projects
• Prepare and ensure the implementation of the daily/weekly/monthly work plan, in coordination with the sector manager; Participate, when necessary, and supervise the assistants.
About you
• To be successful in this role you must have years’ At least 2 years of proven international/or local experience in Community Empowerment and Livelihoods, Political and cultural awareness, Proven communication, interpersonal, representation, negotiation, promotion and diplomacy skills; specifically with Local partners and authorities.

Ideally, you will also be Fluent in Arabic, with Strong command of written and spoken English, University degree or advanced degree in social studies, economics, community development, social entrepreneurship or a related field
We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a two-month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 01/04/2017 and be willing and able to work in Bekaa.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates and Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at level C1. Basic Salary: 1650 USD
