Community Empowerment Supervisor

GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Actually is working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in Lebanon dates back to the begin of Syrian Crisis and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects in Bekaa financed by International Donors mainly in WASH sector. GVC is recruiting personnel to cover the position of Community Empowerment Supervisor to support activities in Bekaa Position Title: Community Empowerment Supervisor Reporting to: Emergency Officer-Nationals Only Duty station: Al Ain Salary grade: G4/L1 OBJECTIVES: GVC is seeking a Community Empowerment Supervisor for its programming which will be responsible for assisting the organization and the Programme Managers to ensure timely a good quality of protection supervision over the protection team while supporting line-managers in relevant tasks. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support in the implementation of the GVC community protection strategy in the North Bekaa Provide sound staff supervision (6 staff) Provide constant feedback to his/her supervisor on progress, lessons learnt, achievements, gaps Ensure documentation is prepared in time respecting quality standards and GVC Strategy Facilitate the communication with the Protection and WASH team Provide timely the WASH team with sound information for a timely and qualitative response (community strategies, coping mechanisms, gaps, vulnerabilities) Ensure coordination with the Protection officer to enhance a sound referral pathway for Masharia al Qaa Ensure data are timely collected on ODK and daily updated Ensure preparation and implementation of the daily/weekly/monthly work plan in coordination with the line manager Support the info management and MEAL activities including feedback from beneficiaries and supporting internal and external evaluations of the activities (including data analysis and reporting) Supporting the Emergency Officer and the Protection Coordinator in qualitative results reviews Assist with trainings and development of staff capacities Support in advocacy and communication activities when required. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in social science, international law, or similar subject.   At least 2 years of previous experience in the humanitarian sector working with community groups Previous work experience in NGOs will be an asset Driving licence PERSONAL AND INTER-PERSONAL SKILLS Arabic and Fluency in written and spoken English Good communication skills (with local authorities and communities) Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles and values Highly organised and able to work respecting deadlines Passionate about the job, with sense of humour, flexible and with willingness to work long hours Ability to work in team with respect Being flexible and with the ability to adjust to changes and new requirements EMPLOYEMENT CONDITIONS Contract duration: 11 months full-time with possibility to renew; Required Starting Date: ASAP Duty Station: 100% North Bekaa (GVC Ain Office).
