Project SummaryThe project seeks to build community resilience to the pull of violence by providing tailored capacity building, networking and sub-grants to 18 locally-led projects working along three associated themes: social cohesion, nonviolent civic mobilization and the promotion of moderate voices. The projects have a wide range of thematic emphases, including dialogue, education, governance, media or social cohesion. In each case, the local project seeks to address issues of conflict with an approach that is adapted to their community.
Responsibilities
The Sub- grant Assistant will be assisting the Sub-grant Coordinator in the following responsibilities
Grants:• Assist in setting up sub granting protocols for Lebanon SFCG office in regard to selection of partners and the vetting process.• Assist in setting up a system for effective grants management as per donors regulations and SFCG internal guidelines• Assist in creating a system for effective and easy to follow up of sub grants.• Assist in drafting financial reports meant to donors in coordination with different departments of SFCG, donors and partners.• Attend various meetings in order to match contracts to the decisions taken in these meetings• Assist in drafting contracts for sub recipients in coordination with different departments from SFCG, donors and partners• Assist in reviewing all sub recipients financial report for zero ineligibility in costs• Assist the sub-grant coordinator in leading the effort on sub grants closures (Financially and programmatically) and systematically coordinate and report to CD and PM.• Assist in the evaluation of sub granters in comparison to the burn rate• Participate in designing means for easy financial and programmatic reporting on sub grants• Conduct financial project monitoring. • Assist in Follow up on partnership agreements systematically to meet all deadlines and deliverable.
Partners:
Assist the Sub-grant Coordinator in the following:• Capacity building of local partners in reporting financially and programmatically• Educating partners on donors regulations and procedures• Assist in expenditure monitoring for partners• Educate partners on donors’ reporting tools• Follow up on partnership agreements systematically to meet all deadlines and deliverables• Work with partners to highlight difficulties and devise solutions• Periodical visits to partners’ offices and SFCG sub offices• Prepare partners for all audits
Requirements and Qualifications• Lebanese citizen• 1 to 2 years of related experience, including sub-grant management.• Familiarity with the practice of peacebuilding, youth programming, the refugee response and the Lebanese context.
Skills• Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners;• Demonstrated financial management and program administration experience;• Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations;• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills• Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic;• Strong oral and written communications skills;• Demonstrated writing and grants management skills;• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability;• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel;• Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail;
