“Youth for Tomorrow” Project, implemented by Akkarouna with support from Mercy Corps (MC), focuses on helping host and refugee community adolescents, in targeted areas in Tripoli to cope with numerous stresses. The decisions they make now will have a profound long-term impact on their lives; thus it is essential to equip adolescents with the tools to make sound judgment in order to have a healthy and productive future. “Youth for tomorrow” aims to achieve the following:
- Adolescents and youth have improved psychosocial and emotional wellbeing.
- Adolescents and youth are better prepared to enter the workforce with enhanced technical skills and improved awareness of labour market realities
- Diverse groups build positive inter-community relationships by working together to promote protection and interests of adolescents and youth.
- Civil Society has increased capacity to serve the needs of youth.
Job Purpose
The M&E Officer will handle all data collection, analysis, and learning activities to help ensure accountability and efficiency from start to finish for all activities implemented for Youth for Tomorrow project. The M&E Officer will collaborate with the center coordinator in reviewing and preparing monthly, quarterly and final narrative reports. Additionally, s/he will replace or work with other members of the team, depending on the needs of the project.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the center coordinator in creating a framework for the monitoring and evaluation process of project activities throughout the duration of the project;
- Daily communication with MC M&E coordinator for data collection, management and analysis also to work on solution for any issues occurred
- Responsible with MC M&E coordinator for collection of the complaints from the center feedback boxes on weekly basis
- Support in entering, organizing and compiling data collected alongside with the admin staff and the coaches
- Immediate follow up on any concerns raised from data filling or any kind of duplication with Akkarouna and MC
- Ensure data verification and validation under the supervision prior to its submission;
- Record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe, accessible way;
- Analyze and discuss findings based on regular monitoring data;
- Support the Center coordinator in providing recommendation to Akkarouna/MC based on field needs and quantitative evidence;
- Suggest ways to facilitate data collection and the flow of data among Project team;
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and propose solutions along with the project Coordinator;
- Ensure that the data queries and requests are addressed in an accurate and timely manner;
- Assist Center Coordinator in drafting weekly and quarterly reports;
- Assist that the objective of the Youth for tomorrow project is being achieved throughout tracking and monitoring the activities with the set target.
- The use of Access program is essential to apply to this position
- Ensure filling of the Adolescent friendly space minimum standard check list on a periodic basis
Skills & Qualifications
- Min 2- 3 years of Monitoring and Evaluation experience (essential) within a nonprofit Organization;
- IT background or relevant studies in university
- Capacity to produce high-quality briefs and reports in English;
- Data collection and management;
- Excellent use of computer with command on Access among other packages of MS Office;
- Proven skills in critical thinking, assessment and analysis;
- Demonstrated ability in report writing and presentation;
- Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent communication, team building and training skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in and outside the association.

The association works on raising the moral, behavioral and environmental awareness; thus, uniting communities together to grow stronger towards the same objectives and erasing ignorance. It also works on fighting local poverty to decrease the gaps and in equalities between all the communal levels. Hence, it works on developing the quality and standards of the society.
