About FES Lebanon The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is an international non-profit organization committed to the values of social democracy and is the oldest of Germany's political foundations. In Lebanon, FES opened its office in 1966. FES currently maintains offices in ten countries of the region. The aims of the activities of FES Lebanon are to support democratic reforms and political participation, to enhance progress towards social justice and gender equality as well as to contribute to ecological sustainability and peace and security in the region. FES Lebanon supports the building and strengthening of civil society and public institutions. FES Lebanon cooperates with a wide range of partner institutions from civil society and the political sphere in order to establish platforms for democratic dialogue, organize conferences, hold workshops and publish books and policy papers on current political questions. TasksThe Program Manager coordinates and monitors activities of FES Lebanon. In this, he/she works under the supervision and in close coordination with the Resident Representative. Among the tasks of our future colleague are: Drafting and designing of national, regional and international activities of FES Lebanon Implementation and monitoring of activities, either FES own activities or those organized in close partnership with national, regional or international partner organizations or institutions Follow-up of content and administration, including financial monitoring and reporting of project activities Profound analysis of current affairs, continuous monitoring of media coverage; providing advise to the Resident Representative; media presence is encouraged depending on qualification Providing consultancy, training and / or expertise for FES partner organizations Required Qualifications Advanced degree (MA, MSc or Diploma), preferably in Political Science, International Relations, Social Studies, Law or a related field At least 3 years of experience in Project Management, preferably in an CSO / NGO or an international organization Strong demonstrated interest in political developments, both nationally and internationally Solid demonstrated knowledge of the political, social and economic context of Lebanon Strong communicative, interpersonal and intercultural skills Excellent writing skills Written and spoken proficiency in Arabic (native speaker) and English; proficiency in French and / or German is an additional asset Willingness to work on weekends The FES strongly encourages applications by qualified women.
