OBJECTIVES
The Communications Manager is responsible for writing, editing, editorial coordination and supporting all aspects of the mission’s internal and external communication needs, in close coordination with the Country Director, the programme coordinators, the field management teams and HQ communication department in Paris.
JOB
COMMUNICATION
Develop and update the Communication strategy in accordance with SI’s policies and priorities for Lebanon;
Be the driving force for designing and implementing communication activities;
Write and edit regular blogs, articles, media releases, and advisories;
Write and edit media materials such as fact sheets, scientific highlights, publications, talking points, etc.
Support in the production of presentations, video editing, infographics, leaflets, and newsletters;
Project manage and coordinate all communications activities in order to meet timelines within a smooth review process by the country director and the HQ communication department;
Identify key communications opportunities and moments;
Undertake on-site visits to collect and document the implementation of programs through photos, videos, audio, and other multimedia formats to be utilized in the production of communication material;
Participate in building the capacities of the Field Team with respect to communication;
Assure SI’s visibility and branding on-site through the design and procurement of promotional material;
Ensure that the donors’ visibility on-site and on communication material is appropriate and aligned with each donors’ visibility guidelines and update field teams when necessary
Provide high-quality editing and formatting for program-related documents;
Support SI in organizing seminars, workshops, press conferences and high level meetings;
Assist in administrative and reporting tasks related to communication when necessary.
Liaise with HQ to ensure that the communications department is regularly supplied with up-to-date information on SI’s activities in Lebanon;
Coordinate the flow of information to HQ for SI’s website and regularly produce short articles about the mission for publication on the website and in SI’s publications;
REPRESENTATION
Actively represent the organization when asked and/or delegated to do so and more specifically take an active participation in the communication working groups at national and regional level and provide timely and accurate information on SI intervention as requested by the sectors.
