Hospital Logistics Manager

Main Purpose Planning, coordinating and monitoring all logistics related activities in the hospital according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to provide support for its medical activities.  While responsible for general operational support a special emphasis is placed on assessments and ensuring the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Biomed activities. Accountabilities In collaboration with the hospital facilities management team and MSF clinical and nursing leadership, Hospital Logistician is directly responsible for all operational support activities in the hospital by developing, assessing and implementing the logistics strategy, policies, tools and procedures specifically in the areas of Biomedical, Construciton/Rennovation, Energy, Water/Sanitation, Hospital Supply, and Building Safety. Defining procedures and managing the implementation, monitoring, maintenance logbook, and after-sales relationships with Biomed companies in order to ensure a well organized, predictive, oversight of Biomedical equipment by: Organizing and participating in the installation and replacement of equipment and following up the different maintenance contracts (manage warranty agreements and propose renewal before they expire); Ensuring the proper documentation, filing and the compilation of the installation and maintenance done or required as well as defining functioning standards and monitoring systems; Acting as a technical referent for hospital staff. Taking the lead in organizing user training where required; Collaborator with hospital Biomedical technicians.  Maintaining positive working relationship with non-MSF hospital logistics team is a crucial element of position. Planning of biomed orders according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure the correct use and efficient functioning of the Biomed equipment of the mission. When required, bidding and managing the hospital improvements, maintenance and construction budget and directing construction requirements; Ensuring that hospital occupational health and safety systems are in place, maintained and updated when needed (e.g. fire safety including emergency planning, hospital access and security). Responsible for hospital hygiene through good engagement with the MSF medical leadership and performing regular audits. Responsible for ensuring that the waste management system for our spaces is perfomed up to MSF standards. Implementation of the Hospital Logistics Tool Kit (HLT) and provide training for its efficient implementation. Ensuring that all staff in the project are informed of the proper use of the hospital's infrastructure, equipment and communication tools. Monitoring security risks to the project and staff and the application of established safety rules and reporting to the Logistics Coordinator and/or Assistant Head of Mission any problem that may arise. Participating in the writing of the monthly reports according to guidelines
