Teacher: Mobile Bus Project

Main Function: Salamat School bus project provides educational tools and support in informal schools in the Bekaa Valley. The school bus visits schools in informal settlements and one orphanage. As well as working with teachers to reinforce their teaching of the Lebanese curriculum there will also be  health and social awareness sessions as well as support from a nurse who will be on-board on a part-time basis. Responsibilities: Teaching classes alongside teachers from informal schools in the Bekaa Valley Using educational tablets to reinforce the curriculum for students Developing lesson plans based on teachers' needs and requests Working alongside teachers from the schools visited Submitting daily, weekly and monthly reports in English Working with a team of international volunteers Attending weekly team meetings Working with Country Manager of donor organisation to constantly monitor, evaluate and develop the project Being responsible for prioritising the security of the bus and its contents, including the tablets Inform donor country manager when teachers, volunteers or employees are in need of additional training in the use of the tablets Essential Criteria: Fluent in English written and oral. Qualification in Teaching Excellent organizational and interpersonal capabilities Ability to successfully handle several Project activities simultaneously Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and proves high level of flexibility Ability to work in multicultural environments and spend time in different and diverse locations all over the country Ability to manage and train staff and volunteers involved in the educational projects. Self-motivated and able to recommend options for resolution of complex issues; Able to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues in a responsible and mature manner Desirable: Experience with humanitarian work A relevant Bachelor’s degree Teaching experience Familiar with technology (computers and tablets) Social work experience
