Logistics Assistant

The Logistics Assistant is responsible for the maintaining and following up on all Fleet, Logistics and ICT needs in the north. S/he delivers technical, logistics and procurements advice and support for all related activities. S/he acts as a logistics focal point in the north   Position in the organisation   The Logistics Assistant is part of the Operations Department reporting to the Security and Logistics advisor. S/he does not manage staff, s/he supports drivers or project managers.   Result areas   1.             Fleet Management Generate weekly Car plans based on the staff needs, and follow up on any update during the week in Beirut and the north with the support of the security and Logistics Advisor. Help in the coordination of staff movement Ensures all drivers are successfully and accurately filling out the mileage and fuel log books Ensures with drivers that all cars are maintained and ready to be used in a daily basis. Follow up with rental companies Follow up on all the official papers for cars and drivers     Result: fleet is handled in such a way that involve all staff and car needs; and make sure that all cars are maintained and ready to use.   2.             Assisting in procurement and Logistics     Assists in obtaining quotations for purchase requests for the Offices, Warehouses and Guest Houses. Assists in procurement and purchasing of stationery (office materials and project materials) according to internal procedures; Assists in workshops Follow up on Warehouses (Inventory), Guest Houses and offices maintenance and payments Follow up on Hotel bookings and payments.   Result: procurement and logistics matters are handled in such a way that the office is running efficiently.   3.             Providing ICT support (with the support of the ICT Officer)   Assists in planning and implementing changes to elements of the ICT service Sets up equipment such as laptops, projectors, and other specialist ICT equipment. Installs new software Detects, and follow up on Laptops, printer and peripheral device faults.   Result: ICT technical support is given to staff in such a way that issues are resolved at all times.     Any other task appointed by the line manager   Knowledge and Experience   BS Degree in related field Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position   Skills and Competencies Knowledge of IT, logistics and administration Strong planning and organizing skills to handle multiple tasks with deadlines Fluent English and Arabic Good computer skills Team player Result focused and cost-conscious; Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members Good organizations skills Social and communication skills
