Social Worker

Duties and Responsibilities: The social worker will be based within SIDC offices, Sin El Fil, and will be under the supervision of the Program Coordinator/director of the project(s) that are currently being implemented at SIDC. The specific responsibilities will be as follows: He/she will: • Be trained on legal, medical and communication issues to respond to hotline calls and face-to-face case management related to People Living with HIV (PLHIV) • Be responsible for following up with cases and making referrals to healthcare providers, organizations and lawyers • Get to know the activities related to HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health • Develop an action plan on how to execute their work • Participate (plan, execute and evaluate) in the activities of the project that are related to PLHIV who seek the help of our organisation • Coordinate with the patients regarding their requests and providing them with the needed support • Follow up with patients and their families • Coordinate and/or attend peer education and group support meetings set with PLHIV and/or vulnerable groups • Participate in the meetings held with other NGOs working on the same project as part of the referral set by SIDC, a well as participating in the scaling up of the referral system • Coordinate activities and campaigns which will take place throughout the year in the occasion of: 1st of December campaign, outreach activities during the summer, activities on St. Valentine, Candle Light Memorial, and other activities related to HIV and Sexually Transmitted Dieseases (STDs) • Ensure the promotion of the different programs upon the participation in different seminars, meetings, university booths etc … • Submit a monthly report that describes all tasks achieved and challenges faced • Submit a report that includes recommendations for the next step • Attend weekly meetings with the teams of the different projects, to update the team on the progress of the work and coordinate the following tasks Qualifications: Required • Degree in Social work studies • At least 4 years of experience • Prior experience in a non-profit or international field, with health related issues • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English. French is a plus. Additional • Knowledge about sexual health including (HIV and STDs) • Good communication skills • Good team work skills • Good problem solving capacity • Ability to work under pressure
