Data Entry Assistant - Zahle

ROLE PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Shelter officer the data entry assistant performs a wide variety of duties in support for UNHCR shelter activities, as a part of shelter team her\his position serves in to meet high performance and compiling qualitative data by following data program techniques and procedures. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Shelter Officer Staff directly reporting to this post:  N/A     KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:  -       Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities. -       Processes beneficiaries and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the Officer for resolution. -       Enters beneficiaries data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information according to screen format -       Verifies entered beneficiaries data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data; combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data. -       Secures information by completing data base backups. -       Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. -       Maintains beneficiaries’ confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. -       Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. -       Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.   QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  -       Minimum 1 year of work experience in an NGO -       Minimum 1 year of data entry experience -       Familiar with Humanitarian principles. -       Experience in community mobilisation, conducting outreach activities, assessments, and/or distribution. -       Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms. -       Proficiency on Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, including management of Excel databases. -       Good time management and organizational skills. -       Fluency in written and spoken Arabic (English language skills advantageous). -       Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and teamwork. -       Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in insecure environment.  -       Familiarity with the relevant geographic areas.
