Agro Processing Expert

JOB SUMMARY A qualified agro-processing expert is required to offer consultancy as well as implementation of works and services covering aspects related to agro-processing in order to have operational projects. He/She shall be providing technical assistance for the municipal projects under BALADI Program including selection of beneficiaries, identification of product and production line and assessment of the personnel needs. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Submit a checklist of the selection beneficiaries’ criteria. •Perform surveys and orientation sessions with attendance sheets. •Prepare a report consisting of the assessments done during the selection process of the beneficiaries. •Submit list of the potential beneficiaries. •Submit a checklist consisting of the beneficiaries’ qualifications required. •Prepare a list of potential trainers from beneficiaries. •Evaluate the legal status of the operational and management entity of the agro-processing center (if available). If not, proposal for the legal status of the intended entity. •Submit a report consisting of the status of the existing legal entity or the evaluation of the proposed one along with the legal requirements for proper registration in Lebanon. •Assessment of the products already produced and suggestion of recommendations for improvement through a report. •Prepare a list of potential products to be produced. •Prepare list of equipment and specifications for the processing unit. •Identify the production capacity through a feasible and convenient market driven produce. •Coach the existing operational and management entity to identify the weaknesses and conditions of its legal and financial structure, or coach the new entity with respect to all legal requirements. •Identify the training needs for each agro-processing projects (technical, operation and management). •Prepare a checklist consisting of the technical, operational and managerial skills needed. •Suggest the customized training materials to comply with each need / project. •Prepare list of trainings and training plan including list of training topics: for both Technical part and Operational/Managerial part. •Prepare TORs and List of potential recommended trainers. •Coordinate with all the concerned experts in order to reach the overall targets and objectives of the BALADI projects in hands.
