Summary of Position
The Sub-grant Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the sub-granting for a project which aims to create a space for dialogue around conflict issues and strengthen community stakeholders’ capacities to collaborate with one another in addressing conflicts arising from the Syrian refugee crisis.
Responsibilities
Set up sub-granting protocols for the project following SFCG policies in regard to selection of partners and vetting processes.
Set up a system for effective grants management as per donor regulations and SFCG internal guidelines.
Create a system and tools for effective and easy to follow up of sub-grants.
Assist in drafting financial reports of sub-grants in coordination with different departments of SFCG and the donor.
Attend various programmatic meetings in order to match contracts and sub-grant monitoring to the programmatic decisions taken in these meetings.
Draft contracts for partners in coordination with relevant departments from SFCG and following donor requirements.
Review all partner financial reports to ensure eligibility of all costs.
Lead the effort on sub-grants closures (financial and programmatic) and systematically coordinate and report to Country Director and Senior Projects Manager.
Monitor sub-grant spending to ensure eligibility of costs.
Participate in designing means for easy financial and programmatic reporting on sub-grants.
Capacity building of sub-grantees in reporting financially and programmatically.
Informing and training sub-grantees on donor regulations and procedures.
Training sub-grantees on SFCG and donor reporting tools.
Follow up on sub-grant contracts systematically to meet all deadlines and deliverables.
Work with sub-grantees to highlight difficulties and devise solutions.
Periodical visits to sub-grantees’ offices and SFCG sub offices.
Prepare sub-grantee audits.
Requirements and Qualifications
Lebanese citizen
Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, including sub-grant management.
Familiarity with the practice of peacebuilding, youth programming, the refugee response and the Lebanese context.
Demonstrable networks in Akkar, Beqaa and/or Mount Lebanon.
Skills
Proven ability to negotiate multiple relationships with various partners;
Demonstrated financial management and program administration experience;
Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations;
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic;
Strong oral and written communications skills;
Demonstrated writing and grants management skills;
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel;
Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail;
