PRESENTATION OF HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL Handicap International is an independent and impartial international aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights. It operates as a federation made up of a network of associations that provide it with human and financial resources, manage its projects and implement its actions and social mission.  For more details on the association: http://www.handicap-international.org  Handicap International is composed of 2 operational divisions: Humanitarian Action Division Development Division  MISSION CONTEXT  The Emergency Response Division in Lebanon was created in April 2012.  The provision of support to health structure is provided directly by Handicap International physiotherapist and technical advisor. The identification, assessment of the needs, referral and direct provision of services is done through outreach teams (composed of one social worker as case manager and one physiotherapist supported by psychologists and/or psychosocial workers) and trough fixed points in the communities (in community centers to allow more efficiency reducing the time to reach the beneficiaries). GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION   Under the line management of Logistics Department, the Driver is responsible for  Ensure a good and safe transport of HI staff and equipment and ensure the maintenance of the vehicle under your responsibility.  WORK RELATIONSHIPS  Line manager: Facility Assistant Line manager+1: Logistics Manager RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES  Objectives Activities/Main duties: 1. Ensure the transportation of people and equipment under good security conditions with respect to HI vehicle management procedure: 1.1   When transporting HI employees or goods respect the country’s circulation rules and follow the facilities assistant’s planning and instructions. 1.2   Make sure all staff and expatriate put their security belt. 1.3   In case of an accident, immediately get in touch with the closest police station and duly inform the logistics department. 1.4   Follow the instructions of the manufacturer and the HI rules when using the vehicle. 1.5   Keep all personal documents as well as those of the vehicle with you and check that they are valid (driving license, insurance paper, order mission, HI ID card, HI charter & Waiver of liability form…) 1.6   Fill in the Log book every day according to HI procedures. 1.7   Behave in a respectful way at check point and/or to police officer and/or to military keeping in mind that you are representing HI. 1.8   Respect HI security rules   2. Ensure the maintenance of the vehicle under your responsibility with respect to HI vehicle management procedure: 2.1   Carry out daily checks before starting up the motor (oil level; water level; pressure of the tires) 2.2   Wash the car twice a week minimum. 2.3   Note down fuel consumption in the record book according to HI procedures, as well as any information concerning the maintenance of the vehicle. 2.4   Make sure that the security tool box and first aid kit are complete and on board. 2.5   Make sure the fuel tank is always half full. 2.6   Inform the facilities assistant when service is necessary. 2.7   Solve minor technical problems. 2.8   Inform the logistics department of any major repairs to be carried out.   3. Ensure the Preparation of the departures: 3.1   Inspect and prepare the vehicle the day before departure so as to be on time. 3.2   Prepare additional equipment to be brought along according to needs (fuel, stickers, flags, tools, medical kit). 3.3   Guarantee the good loading and unloading of the car and tight the goods in an appropriate way. 3.4   Know the city map, especially HI staff houses, INGOs offices, UN offices … and relevant partners’ offices. 3.5   Make sign a Waiver of Liability form letter for none HI staff. 4. Contribute in editing the fleet’s monthly report with the line manager: 4.1   Report to the facilities assistant or logistics officer any problem encountered during work schedule. 4.2   Announce a month in advance the expiry date of the documents related to the vehicle under your responsibility.   4.3   Fill in the fuel consumption table for the vehicle under your responsibility.
