Part Time Position from Monday till Friday
The MoPH has recently established the national mental health programme and has prioritized the integration of mental health into primary care. The programme has been training non-specialized health care providers (general practitioners, nurses, and social workers) at PHC centers on recognizing and managing mental health conditions, using the MHGAP training guide.The role of the supervisor will be to provide technical assistance to the trained PHC staff; to make sure that PHC staff are correctly applying the skills and knowledge acquired in the training.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly visits to mhGAP trained PHC clinics as part of the monitoring, providing support and supervising the work of integrating mental health into primary health care plan.
Conduct meeting with the PHC director and staff trained on mhGAP in order to assess the integration of mental health (MH) in PHC in line with mhGAP, identify gaps and challenges, develop a plan to address these gaps and challenges and provide needed support and guidance.
Develop, monitor and implement clinic based/outreach treatment plans together with trained PHC workers and provide them with needed guidance regarding therapeutic services and referrals of Adult and Child/Adolescent patients.
Conduct group discussions with the PHC staff trained on mhGAP at the PHC level in order to assess the communication and dynamics of interaction among the staff in addition to provide general guidance towards improving the MH services at the PHC level.
Complete patient evaluations, set treatment recommendations and provide medical case reviews, with needed documentation as necessary.
Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the data collection at PHC level.
Provide training on Psychological First Aid (PFA) and other type of trainings as needed.
Support and participate to the National Mental Health Program activities as required.
Deliverables:
Weekly fill and send the supervision visit formats as per the mhGAP formats and questionnaires
Monthly send activity reports and planning for the next month.
Provide support and supervision field visit reports as per the WHO formats and questionnaires.
Qualifications:
Mental health professionals working in the following fields:
Psychiatry
Psychology/psychotherapy (master degree is a must)
Psychiatric nursing (master degree is a must
Supervision experience;
Previous NGO experience;
Trained on mhGAP is a plus;
Familiarity with the work of PHC/ MoPH is a plus;
Motivation and personal interest in mental health;
Very good communication and teamwork skills;
