Contractor For Community Day Event

1- BACKGROUND: Enhancing Protection Outcomes for Vulnerable Children affected by the Syria Crisis in Akkar and Beirut & Mount Lebanon Areas is a project implemented by World Vision Lebanon (WVL). World Vision is establishing Psychosocial Support Centers (PSC) to provide targeted children with structured psychosocial support (PSS) to build resilience, contextually relevant skills, create social support and support community mobilization to enhance child protection and child well-being. On the other hand, parents are also supported through awareness sessions. Another component of the project aims to deliver quality messages to caregivers and children in an interactive manner about child abuse and exploitation targeting children involved in Worst form of Child Labor. WVL is undertaking outreach activities that contribute to greater awareness, understanding and community mobilization towards enhanced child protection. 2- THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY: World Vision Lebanon is looking for a professional Expert/company or animation group to deliver two events under the theme of Family Daytargeting children participating in WV PSS programmeand their parents whereby children, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers are invited to attend and participate. At the beginning of the event a family photo will be taken for the entire family. During the event key messages on Child protection focusing on Child Labor will be disseminated through a games, videos, At the End of the event a quality information play for children and caregivers attending the event will be performed. . The key messages to be developed and delivered through the show aim to increase awareness about child protection focusing on Children involved in Worst Forms of Child Labor and how they can be protected from violence, exploitation and abuse. The show will be followed by a 10 minutes discussion about topics highlighted in the play The Event will be held in two locations in Akkar Area on different days. Shows will be performed with audiences primarily aged 6 to 12 and their caregivers. The duration of the event will be around2 hours. It will take place during the third week of Novemberand will reach around 150 - 200 people per event. 3- REQUIRED TASKS: Overall The Contractor will develop a 2 hourevent in Arabic. Simple language is to be used and should deliver clear messages on Child labor, for children and their caregivers. The play will be held in greater Akkar area mainly in Mhamraand Bourj AL Arab. The event should be interactive to include audience participation as much as possible. Specific Required Tasks - Produce concept of the event and quality information play in collaboration with Project Coordinator and World Vision Technical Expert. - Create relevant characters and key messages. - Deliver the messages about the unique importance of every person regardless of his life conditions. - Encourage every child to seek always for excellence - Entertainment, hilarious situation, a lot of interaction between children and their families and create for the, a situation whereby an extreme fun. - Perform a pilot performance with World Vision Technical expert, get feed-back and incorporate them in the initial script. - - Perform the 2 events in the set locations (, Bourj Al Arab and Mhamra) The show designed by the second party must : • take around 2 hours • Utilize a mobile set, decoration, clothing/costumes, Sound system, props, etc. • Include songs tailored to fit the topic • Use of Arabic language. • Take into consideration the absence of professional stage and/or lighting. • Communicate all steps of the show preparation with World Vision (WVL to watch it before start of delivery to the community). The contractor will incorporate the different suggestions made by WV prior to delivery of services. • Be reviewed and approved by World Vision committee. • The plays should respect the Lebanese, Syrian, contexts taking into consideration different religions and different cultures. Content, clothes, names and performance must be inclusive of all groups 4- HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PLAY: The show designed by the second party must include the following Child Protection messages following - Child Rights (to be protected from Child Labor and Worst Forms of Child labor)Child Labor Risks, - Consequences and impact of Child Labor - Self-protection from violence, discrimination and exploitation, - Role of parents in protecting their children - Reporting in case of abuse 5- CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: The Consultant should have the following competencies and experiences: - Experience in animation, plays production and having undertaken similar activities in the past. - Familiar with civil society and NGO engagement. - Preferably familiar with the Syrian refugee community in Lebanon. - Excellent Arabic language proficiency 6- PAYMENT TERMS The full amount will be paid after completion of the services. Contractor (Second Party) The second party agrees to: • Develop a script and design for the event in line with first party specifications (see above • Perform for a minimum of 150- 200 attendees children and Adults with a maximum 2 hours • At the end of the events, the second party agrees to fill in an attendance sheet – signed by second party At the conclusion of the events, second party agrees to submit a report detailing: o Number of events and attendance sheet o Pictures o Narrative Report, including success stories and referrals if any • Maintain the visibility of World Vision Lebanon and during all phases of the project, and the shared producing rights after the end of the project (excluding the use of pictures of children without their and their parents’ written informed consent) • Comply with World Vision policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
