PURPOSE OF POSITION:
We are seeking a very dynamic and well-organized person to assist the Project, using professional social/technical skills to achieve the objectives, and to seek the optimal solutions for each child in the project.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1- Facilitate project’s implementationProjects activities are implemented as per the developed action planPlan and follow up on all technical related activities including :
Sending of monthly planning to the outreach coordinator, beginning of each monthSubmission of a monthly report related to the progress of the work to managementConduct regular spot-checks on running sessionsEnrolment of children in public schoolsMeetings with key stakeholders to engage them about the project interventions and agree on their contributions in order to ensure sustainability.Network with local NGOs, municipalities, schools, community centers, and communities.Mapping of available services availableSet criteria for the identification of potential beneficiaries to the relevant project’s programs.Manage and build the capacity of engineers:Supervise the workMeet with the team weeklyRespond to all the teams’ concerns (annual leaves, sick leaves, payslips, etc.)Participate and collaborate in other activities (recreational, psychosocial, awareness and non-formal education) conducted in community centers/Informal tented settlements, when neededAttend training and capacity building opportunities
2- Handle tracking, reporting on activities and filingProgress reports are done and submitted as per the required deadlineEnsure all project means of verifications including attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, minutes of meetings, and evaluation documents are in place.Ensure that filling and archiving of specific forms for referrals and weekly reporting are taking place while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.Ensure that the Referral Tracking sheet is filled on a monthly basis and is sent to the relevant focal person.
3- Perform other duties as requiredSafety and Security responsibilitiesResponsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security cultureAbide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line managerBe aware of the emergency procedures in a response and ensure that necessary preparedness measures have been implemented after coordination with Project manager
Put the weekly work plan for the team and is held accountable to it.Take part in developing the project technical forms and templates.Take part in developing assessment methodology.Checks and verifies the technical assessments done by the Technical Field assistants.Checks and verifies the individual BoQs of the housing units.Guide the Technical Field assistants in supervising and monitoring the contractors’ work.Checks and verifies the “As Built” quantities.Helps the project manager in developing the technical part of the rehabilitation tender.Take part in building up the technical capacity of the technical field assistants.Coordinate with the Mobilizers team leader to ensure that beneficiary files are complete and properly archived (technical assessment, BoQ, MoU, handover form).Provide regular weekly reports to the project manager
Other duties:Attend and participate in local and international capacity building events as neededAttend and participate in spiritual nurture events and other organizational events Perform other related tasks as required by the Project Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
University degree or higher education relevant to engineering degree or other relevant fields;Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing.Two to three years' experience in a similar related jobExcellent written and spoken English. Knowledge or Arabic language is an added advantageCandidates must have skills in working with people of all ages and social groups;Good verbal and written (reporting) communication skills, with thorough knowledge of Arabic and English and pro-active negotiation skillsSkilled at working with local communities75% field work and 25% Office work.Position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally.
