The trainer will be required to:
A- Deliver a 3 days training of trainers (TOT) on Brief Interventions for substance users. The objectives of the training include providing knowledge and skills to the participants to be able to:
Discuss the evidence around brief interventions
Describe the rationale and goals for brief intervention in primary care;
Define the model of behavior change with regard to substance use;
List the components of brief interventions and the principles of motivational interviewing
Deliver brief intervention for people at moderate risk;
Conduct teach-backs of various modules of the training curriculum
B- The trainer will be providing a 3 days TOT covering the following topics:
Brief intervention: an evidence based approach
Rationale and goals of brief interventions
Screening
Motivational interviewing
Stages of change
Brief intervention/extended brief intervention
Referral
Simulation exercise
C- The trainer will be responsible of preparing all educational material related to the trainings
D- The trainer will be responsible of preparing all required evaluation tools (pre-posttests, training evaluation, etc. )
Reporting:
Reports directly on all tasks and responsibilities to the Head of the Mental Health Programme
