Biomedical Engineer

The Biomedical Engineer (BE) acts as support for Hospital Equipment Engineers (HE)  working in ICRC hospital projects in Lebanon. With his/her professional expertise in the field of medical equipment, s/he is able to perform preventive maintenance and to help troubleshoot complex equipment problems on the spot or by remote support. In addition, he will work to improve capacity of ICRC supported hospital staff in correct usage and preventative maintenance of medical equipment Main responsibilities Supports the ICRC Health projects with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of complex pieces of equipment. Enhances the capacity of hospital equipment engineers for hospitals supported by ICRC Upon requests of other delegations the biomedical engineer can be requested to travel in the Region for ad hoc support if needed. Performs quality control, preventive maintenance and repairs of complex medical equipment Supports installation and commissioning of complex medical equipment coming from the ICRC standard list Trains hospital medical staff (mobile and resident) in usage and of maintenance of medical equipment Profile Biomedical diploma or university degree Good knowledge of medical equipment suppliers (spare parts). Teaching and training experience. 3 - 5 years’ work experience in Hospital Biomedical Engineering Very good knowledge of spoken and written English Very good computer skills Good communication skills Good analytical skills Good teamwork skills
